What TypersPad adds
Notepad on Windows 11 now has tabs. TypersPad goes further. Your tabs can follow you to your other computers, even a Mac or a Linux machine.
You also get line numbers, syntax colours, regular expression search and spell check in 38 languages. And on Windows 10, where Notepad has no tabs, TypersPad gives you tabs too.

As private as Notepad
Like Notepad, TypersPad keeps your text on your computer. There are no ads and no tracking in the app.
Sync is optional. If you use it, your tabs go to your own Google Drive, never to our servers.
Switching from Notepad
Install TypersPad and leave “Add TypersPad to Open with” ticked. Then right-click a .txt file, choose Open with, and pick TypersPad. Tick Always to make it your default.
The installer also adds Edit with TypersPad to the right-click menu, so you can open any file in it.

Can TypersPad be my default text editor?
Yes. Right-click a .txt file, choose Open with, pick TypersPad and tick Always.
Will it remove Notepad?
No. TypersPad doesn’t change or remove Notepad. You can use both.
Which files can it open?
Any plain text file, like .txt, .log, .ini, .csv or .md. It adds colours for 18 languages.
Is it free?
Yes. TypersPad is free, with no ads and no account to create.
